To Decorate or Not to Decorate...

Well, I am getting ready to go to bed after finally getting the little guy to go to sleep - I think he might have been having a tummy ache...or getting another tooth. I really have no clue at this point.

So this will be quick since I am tired and on my phone (thank you for slide out keyboards).

How is it that so many people have all their decorations for Christmas the week before Christmas? I mean, seriously. I think that everyone's house I've been to has decorations up.

I have decided these people have no life. Either that or they take an entire day or two off of work and get it done. Or they might have someone come in and do it for them.

It took me until Monday (four days after Thanksgiving) to get the Thanksgiving decorations away. Then I managed to bring up about eight boxes yesterday (Wednesday) and even got a few decorations out of said boxes today. Between taking care of the cute guy, working on stuff for the boutique, and doing all the other things that had to be done, I had no time to decorate!

Half of me wants to say forget it and put all the boxes away, but the other (and winning) half reminds me that last year was very toned down because of the fact I had a baby and REALLY didn't have any energy.

Oh well. I should just suck it up, turn the Christmas music up, and have a decorationg day.

We'll see how that goes.

Pinterest - Epic Fails

I won't lie - I really, really like Pinterest.

I can't say that it has reached the realms of love, probably because I don't spend as much time on it as I could (something that will undoubtedly not really be remedied in the near future - too many other things to do that get in the way of discovering new things to do... all in all, probably a good thing).

I did come across an article the other day on a site called BuzzFeed Shift. How I got to it, I have no clue - too many things have happened between when I saw it and now for me to remember a little detail like that.

Anyway, the article, which in truth was a collection of 17 pictures, touches on what happens to so many of us when we try to copy some perfect thing that someone posted on facebook - a.k.a. utter failure.

(Seriously, there are a ton of over-the-top cute hairstyles that I would love to try, but there is no way that I will because I know that an hour later my hair will look nothing like the picture and I will be ready to break Pinterest across my leg in frustration.)

These were some of my favorites from the article:

#17 - The Hair Whip (wonder how many times it took to get that shot. It was probably more like The Neck Whiplash...)

17 Hilarious Pinterest Fails--funny!

#6 - Marbled Nails (I want to know if they did this themselves this perfect on both hands...I could maybe do it on my left, since I'm right handed, but I doubt my right hand would look that perfect.)

Marbled Nails

#2 - String Art Balloons - (This could happen with almost any art project. All I know is that my toothpick bridge never looked like the ones you saw in museums!)

String Art Balloons

These were just a few of the ones that were posted in the article. I bet there are a bunch more that one could find on Pinterest if the time was spent to look for them (which I don't have).

So how about you? any Pinterest fails?

Here's the full article, if you want to see all 17 pictures --> 17 Pinterest Fails

Oh, almost forgot the absolutely best part of the whole article.

A wise quote from our beloved Boromir.

One year older...

So my adorable little son turned one yesterday.

Wow.

I can't believe that much time has passed already.

Seriously. It feels like just yesterday that we were coming home from the hospital with the cutest little bundle fast asleep in his car seat.

A lot of things have changed - he's grown bigger, he can eat finger food, he crawls up the stairs (and loves to try and do it without supervision :/), he jabbers up a storm, and so much more.

Other things haven't changed one bit - he still has the cutest smile and laugh, his personality is so calm I sometimes have trouble believing he is my son (I was not that calm of a child), he loves touching everything as delicately with the tip of his index finger, and so much more.

Oh, and he still loves to go to bed waaaaay after most every other child his age is in bed.

Like right now. It's after 11 and he is up in his crib playing with the monitor. How do I know this? I'm listening to him try to eat it on the other end.

If I'm lucky, he'll tucker out and be down within 30 minutes.

If he does what he's done the last two nights, I still have another 3 hours before I get to finally go to bed.

I'm really hoping I'm lucky.

But with a face like his, how can you feel bad?
